Lapis Ao, known as a Dragon Type specialist above most - if not all - specialists, is a passionate young trainer hailing from Unova; more specifically from Opelucid City. at least, this is what she believes - given a patchy memory with plenty of empty sections that cannot be recalled. these have, however, been chalked up to the multiple head trauma injuries Lapis has suffered from over the years. she now travels the globe with her team of Pokémon; in search of both an individual who can provide a decent battle, and new species of Dragons she is yet to raise.

Lapis’ Pokémon.

these Pokémon are those Lapis has raised through her thirteen year career - some of which remain on her team today.

#1 ; Flygon.

Flygon was Lapis’ first Pokémon - originally ‘caught’ as a Trapinch during a trip to Rebirth Mountain, the two have long since become the best of friends, putting it lightly. Lapis and Flygon have been through everything together - from clearing all eight Unovan Gyms, assisting the the repelling of Team Plasma during their attack on Opelucid city, all the way to defeating the recently retired Champoin, Alder.
Flygon is male, and Lapis’ ‘ace in the hole’ no doubt, as the two a perfectly in sync during battle. they are a significant force to be reckoned with, once serious about a battle.
Flygon is of level 96, has the Levitate Ability, holds the Choice Scarf item and knows the moves Earth Power, Giga Drain, Fire Blast and Draco Meteor.

#2 ; Volcarona.

Volcarona is another Pokémon caught by Lapis early into her journey, as an egg which hatched into a Larvesta - and has since progressed to evolve and become a key component to Lapis’ team despite not being a Dragon Type. Volcarona is slightly temperamental, but means well as it simply has a short fuse. Volcarona is, undoubtedly, overly attached to Lapis and will grow noticeably moody whenever she has to temporarily switch him out for a different party member.
Volcarona is at level 91, has the Swarm Ability, holds the Leftovers item and knows the moves Bug Buzz, Quiver Dance, Flamethrower and Hurricane.

#3 ; Sylveon.

Lapis, to no surprise, was initially hesitant to train a Fairy Type given her affinity for Dragon Types even at a young age, but moved past such uncertainty. for good reason, too! Sylveon hits hard and can get hit hard - overall, she is well rounded and a significantly well rounded part of Lapis’ team. Sylveon is an extremely kindhearted Pokémon, and is commonly the one to bring Lapis out of her gloom whenever she’s feeling down. of course, this is done in combination with Flygon - who she gets along surprisingly well with despite typings. they are Lapis’ go-to team for a double battle, and she learnt just how well they work together when they practically tore through Olympia’s - the seventh Kalos Gym Leader’s - double battle challenge and, in turn, the Gym itself. Sylveon keeps the team together, and is most commonly the one most full of energy. she’s upbeat and carefree, as well as utterly adorable.
Sylveon is at level 92, has the Pixelate Ability, holds the Life Orb item and knows the moves Moonblast, Hyper Voice, Shadow Ball and Psyshock.

#4 ; Ampharos.

Ampharos was the first Pokémon Lapis caught, outside of Unova. the first region she visited was Johto, where she would meet an adorable Mareep. a Mareep, who would go on to become the most powerful Electric Type Lapis owns. he is also capable of Mega Evolution in which he gains the Dragon Typing which, in Lapis’ opinion, makes him perfect. Ampharos is extremely close to Lapis, and its quirky personality generally makes both Lapis and the rest of her party laugh. it is most commonly attempting to get along with the rest of Lapis team, even when said teammates simply want nothing to do with him. Ampharos is Lapis’ first trump card in battle due to its capability of Mega Evolution behind her trump card that is Flygon, and hits like a truck with its Electric Type moves.
Ampharos is at level 92, has the Static Ability, holds the Ampharosite item and knows the moves Volt Switch, Dragon Pule, Thunderbolt and Focus Blast.

#5 ; Altaria.

Lapis’ Altaria is motherly, and overly protective of both Lapis and the rest of her team. Altaria has been with Lapis for a very, very long time, and was the first Pokémon she achieved Mega Evolution with - when Lapis first travelled to Kalos. Altaria is generally the one to convince Lapis to end training for the day after she exhausts herself, and the fluffy wings of the Pokémon are some of the most comfortable things to sleep on, period. if not seen riding on the back of Flygon, she’ll be on Altaria - happily enjoying the softness.
Altaria is at level 94, has the Natural Cure Ability, holds the Altarianite item, and knows the moves Dragon Dance, Return, Earthquake and Roost.

Headcanons.

1: Lapis hails from Unova, more accurately Opelucid city. she spent a great deal of the time she recalls around the city’s gym, and a love for dragon type Pokémon stemmed from this.

2; Lapis’ methods of training are uncanny, to most. she commonly trains /with/ her Pokemon, putting her own body on the line. from this, both individuals benefit, and the bond Lapis holds with her Pokemon deepens.

3; Lapis’ track record in battles is near impeccable. since first
becoming a trainer, she has lost very rarely - two notable times include extremely early on, to Drayden himself. because of this record, Lapis is commonly regarded as the undefeated trainer of Opelucid.

4; Lapis caught her first Pokemon at age 11, on Reversal Mountain. this Pokemon was a Trapinch, and has long since evolved into a Flygon. it’s her most trusted partner, and more or less her best friend.

5; to Lapis, Dragon types are the fundamentally best typing. through obvious bias as well as experience, such a conclusion has been made. whilst Lapis does train other typings, her preference in choosing what Pokemon to train lies in dragon types.

6; Lapis has challenged each member of the Elite Four - and emerged victorious against each, thus earning her the right to challenge the current Champion Alder - a challenge she just barely triumphed over. however, Lapis denied the glory of taking up the position of Champion, and instead agreed to ‘pretend’ Lapis did not claim victory, thus allowing her to continue to freely travel.

7; Lapis has taken to travelling other regions, in an effort to find trainers who could possibly defeat her. a challenge is what Lapis wants, and what she searches for.

8; whilst Lapis most commonly raises dragon types - that’s not to say she won’t raise other types. Dragons are her speciality, but raising other types is still something she’s entirely capable of, as seen in Ampharos, Volcarona and Sylveon.

9; Lapis, much like her Dragons, dislikes the cold. if the temperature drops, she’ll be rugging up and staying in bed until it’s warmer.

10; whenever home in Opelucid city, Lapis will commonly be teaching the younger dragon types. though they’re dangerous due to not knowing much restraint, that doesn’t quite stop the female from training them as she would any other Pokémon.

11; due to her years of training, Lapis is quite the capable fighter. though she’ll hardly fight people - she’s far more capable than one would expect from a glance. Lapis can easily floor anyone who cannot react quickly enough, and holds a strength unusual to the degree of being able to lift over two hundred pounds bare handed.

12; the patchy segmentation in Lapis’ mind - ranging from age eleven back as far as she can ‘remember’, there are multiple segments of which she know exist, but cannot recall any details outside of multiple individuals crowding over her dressed in labcoats, as if she were laying on a bed, and a second memory dull crying - the source of which she is unsure as to wether it was her own mouth, or another’s.

Subject #47 AZURE; you shall rise above all others. Subject has reached near full assimilation. Cell bondage is complete. Subject remains alive, yet rejective of ███’s DNA spliced with their own. Theoretically - they should not be alive. Yet, they do not die.

Allowed only to recall education, Subject shall function as an ordinary human being - but shall remain superior in every way. . . . . The Champion must be almost here, and for that; I apologise.
